Explosion near Tiananmen Square!

While walking through the crowded streets of Beijing, Peoples Republic of China’s capitol city, EE Vice President for Eurasia, Buddy Gaines, encountered something very unusual for that strongly communist stronghold. Sitting in a taxi cab was 18-year-old Liu Tow, who was reading a Bible!

Buddy stopped and turned to China’s new EE leader, who was accompanying him, and asked him to interpret.

“God bless you as you read the Bible!” Buddy remarked. Buddy then asked him if, in his reading, he had discovered the assurance of eternal life. When Liu Tow said, “No,” Buddy asked if he could share with him some wonderful news. Many pedestrians passing by slowed down to watch this unusual spectacle. Some stopped to listen to the Gospel presentation. And right there, less than one mile from Tiananmen Square, one month before the 10th Anniversary of the communist massacre, young Liu Tow prayed to receive the free gift of eternal life! Please pray for a continued explosion of EE in China!

All in the family

EE-trained Joe Runnels was driving home from baseball practice with his wife Susan and their oldest son Will. Will told his parents that he wanted to be saved! Will had been asking very direct questions about heaven and salvation for the last few months. “After dinner,” Joe recalls, “My wife and I sat down with him and shared the plan of salvation using the EE format, of course. And son Will prayed to receive Christ!”

Nursing home divine appointment

EE Trainer, Bev Wallhoff, took her EE team to a nursing home in Fort Lauderdale. They visited Mrs. Doula Derthrick who was in her mid-80’s and raised Greek Orthodox. She didn’t know for sure whether she’d go to heaven and told them of a dream she had 30 years earlier.

Doula said it happened when she was very ill and in the hospital. She was so ill that she called her husband and told him she thought she was dying. That night, after falling asleep, she dreamed that her father, who had been dead for many years, approached her and asked her to go for a ride with him. They saw many beautiful scenes and then they came to a gate. Her dad pulled out a pass and the guard said, “You may come in.” Her father responded, “What about my daughter?” The guard said, “It is not her time, yet.” With that, she awoke.

When Bev shared the Gospel with Doula she prayed to accept Jesus as her Savior and Lord. “She had been waiting 30 years,” Bev said, “for someone to tell her how she could go to heaven, and was so happy that we had come to see her before it was too late.”
