The search for truth

Tom Stebbins, EE Executive Vice President, was trying to return to Fort Lauderdale when his flight was cancelled. He hoped to get on a 2:30 p.m. flight but was unsuccessful. The 4:30 flight was also over booked. Tom finally got a seat on an 8:30 p.m. departure. During the flight, Tom sat next to a man unlike any he'd ever come across. "I've never seen someone who was searching for truth so openly," Tom said.

In grad school,Eric was majoring in Philosophy of Religions to discover truth and to answer life questions. When Tom asked him the two EE diagnostic questions, Eric responded, "How can anyone ever know the answers to those questions? Tom expressed with gladness, ñI know! I know! And you can too!"

Tom shared the Gospel. While Eric didn't pray to receive Christ as Savior, he felt that Tom was sent from God to meet him on that flight. Following the flight, Eric gave Tom a hug, thanking him for the Good News he shared. Tom promised to mail him two books that would answer more of his difficult questions. Concluded Tom, "I was wondering why I had so much trouble getting a flight, and now I knew."

Reaching government officials

During an EE clinic in the Philippines, EE Director, Bernard Henson, spoke at the graduation ceremony. Eighteen individuals graduated including a Philippine Congressman and his wife. The Congressman shared that he received eternal life through an EE witness. "The greatest thing," he said, "was receiving this gift and having the ability to share it with others."

Even those in high government are coming to the Lord. Another active EE Trainer in government, Attorney Linda Baldoz, is currently the Undersecretary of Labor, and reports that many Bible studies are being held in her department.

No peace of mind

Paul Lee grew up in South Korea. "Although I was a Buddhist all my life," said Paul, "I didn't have peace of mind and was afraid to die."

Last summer, his neighbor held a Backyard Bible Club for children. They invited Paul's children and he agreed to let them attend. Later, his neighbors invited him to church. "My wife accepted their offer, but I didn't because I was a Buddhist," said Paul.

Paul took his family to church and dropped them off each Sunday for several weeks. One day, his eldest son, Brian, asked him to go to church with him. "I accepted his offer because I love him," said Paul. He attended for several weeks but never listened to the pastor's preaching. He then picked up an EE tract and read it during the service. The next day, Paul's family was visited by an EE team. "When they got to Revelation 3:20," said Paul, "I ran into the other room and came out with the little booklet pointing to it. Suddenly, I understood what it meant, and that evening I received the wonderful gift of eternal life!"

Paul now has the peace that he didn't have before. "I no longer tremble about any difficult situations," he said. Paul recently completed his first semester of EE training at Westgate Chapel Church in Toledo, Ohio. Following the session, Paul said, "I have a Ph.D. and have taken a lot of classes, but this is the best one yet!"
