No Clinic. No Problem.

Dr. Nicholay Revtov, EE Director for Eurasia, had been told by the Bishop of Moldova one of thirteen former USSR nations that everything was in place for an EE Clinic and that as many as fifty pastors and lay leaders might show up. But upon arrival, the host pastor knew nothing of the Clinic. Dr. Revtov prayed fervently, then that evening he preached for the pastor. He presented the Great Commission and successfully challenged the congregation, even at such late notice, to host the Clinic.

On Monday several missionary trainers arrived followed by 18 enthusiastic pastors and lay leaders. The host pastor also signed up for the training.

Unfortunately, a bad situation turned worse. Because there was no heating at the church and it was mid-winter, the clinicians had to take notes with gloves on and study in their heavy overcoats. And without any natural gas, meals had to be cooked at home by church members and brought to the Clinic.

Despite such adverse circumstances, the 18 clinicians rejoiced at the valuable EE training they received exulting that they had never had a week like that before! They wouldn't let Dr. Revtov depart until he promised to return.

Having received his own teacher/trainer certificate, the host pastor's surprise turned to deep satisfaction when he experienced through on-the-job training 25 new believers added to his church!

Holy Cow!

Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Bucharest Romania had 500 believers before the 1990 revolution. Afterwards, the pastor came to Fort Lauderdale to be trained in EE. A real multiplication and explosion took place and the church now has over 1,300 believers. Holy Trinity planted six other churches in the Bucharest area and started the first church for deaf people. They are now in the process of starting EE training for gypsy ethnic groups. Gypsies were once considered a lost cause but no more thanks to God working through Evangelism Explosion!

No Fear

Her fear dominated her life. It's called agoraphobia. It resulted in a fear of public places, people, driving her car, shopping, all the normal things people do daily. Her fear of germs often meant changing her clothes several times a day, washing her hands repeatedly, even changing the soap she used.

Now her church was going to use EE, and her pastor asked her to be the administrator of the program. In order to be an administrator, she needed to attend an EE Clinic.

The first days were awful, she recalls. She was petrified of what was going on around her and what she knew she'd be expected to do during On-The-Job training. However, her determination was solidified when the first person they visited during OJT made a profession of faith. That was just the beginning. Today, she has helped start EE in three different churches. She has traveled to Germany with an EE group from her church to assist them in starting the ministry. She has driven over 170,000 EE miles in her car just to encourage pastors and churches to start EE. Look what the Lord has done, she says. She now speaks in front of people, teaches EE in her church, and goes to other churches, all in the interest of implementing EE. This is one more illustration of what the Lord will do for anyone who follows Him in spite of deep-seated fears and feelings of inadequacy and embarrassment.
