To the ends of the earth
Summer Youth EE short-term mission trips made a significant impact. International clinics were held in New Zealand, Cook Islands, Vanuau, Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, Kenya, Mexico, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines. Jesus command to be witnesses to the world was lived out through the Youth EE teams.
Rick Bond, Vice President for Youth EE, reported that the teams trained 670 youth leaders. During the clinics the Gospel was presented to 1,570 people and 1,056 of those came to faith in Christ. These Christian youth are making a significant impact in changing the world!
The following True Fishing Stories focus on the Youth EE teams who raised their own support and traveled to the ends of the earth.
God working in Fiji
EE Vice President for Oceania, Rod Story, reported 386 people came to Christ during two Youth EE clinics with 32 team members on the island of Fiji. They trained 282 clinicians! Rods teenage daughter, Anna, led 37 Fijians to Christ. The first of those was a preacher who did not understand the Gospel. Imagine the joy of a father seeing his daughter leading people to Christ, and training others to lead people to Christ. And imagine a teen leading a preacher to the Lord!
Testimony from the Philippines
This testimony is from Scott Dressler, a student from Nyack College, a Christian school in Nyack, New York:
In all my study of theology, for the first time, I feel that I can truly express Gods gift of salvation in a simple and understandable form. I have never felt so confident about my ability to share the Gospel, and I have rarely been so excited about an evangelistic tool. It was an incredible blessing, and a superb lesson in Gods desire to seek and save the lost, to see Him bring so many into the kingdom in such a short time. I am eternally indebted to those who have supported us through their prayers, for they have supported me in a training which will be a constant asset in my ministry.
Testimony from Papua New Guinea
I thank God for giving me the words of eternal life! With Youth EE, I have seen God do amazing things here in Papua New Guinea, because people are getting trained in how to share their faith and have a new confidence in telling their friends, family and strangers about Jesus. It is so awesome to see people get excited about sharing their faith! I feel confident that the nation of Papua New Guinea is moving closer to revival, as more people are becoming equipped to share their faith.
Testimony from a clinician
Before EE, I had no idea how to share my faith. Now I have a wonderful, structured training. Before this trip my commitment to evangelism was nominal. Now I go back with a calling to share my faith at home. I not only have the method for telling others, but I also now have the desire. There is only one question we need to ask ourselves, Have I effectively shared the Gospel with at least one person this week? I have!
